Well...here we go! While sitting at my computer contemplating the nature of Devour's blog, I must admit, I became slightly blocked up over the pressure of making it "perfect!" Sure, the stellar team at Devour are super detail oriented and pour their heart and soul into every event we put on, but I felt the desire to share more with our clients past, present and future. While food may literally be the bread and butter of a catering company – Devour's passion lies in contributing to once-in-a-lifetime experiences that make you feel alive and fully present. ‘In the moment’ as some people may call it.
Perhaps that's what this blog will be about..conveying those "in the moment" moments. While our website will help you organize the nitty gritties of catering an event in Calgary, I hope this blog lets you see some of the up close and personal moments that proudly go into making a Devour event. Great people, great venues, fabulous food, and sneak peeks behind the scenes are all on my agenda to cover in my blog posts.
Sounds like a lofty venture I know – but I do believe that life is full of moments deserving of celebration and we, at Devour, are here to bring everything we can to the party! So grab a glass of wine and read on!
But first – some fun!!! To celebrate the launch of the new website for this Calgary catering company we thought a fun contest was in order.....
Devour has been graced by our lovely ‘Devour lady’ for over ten years and it occurred to us recently that she should really have a proper name. Will you help us? Your entry could get you a prize to Devour!!. Please click here to send us your suggestion. If you don't know who Ms. Devour is - scroll up to the top of the page and she is on the left spoon and tray in hand....
Ms. Devour’s new first name will be announced on July 1st and the lucky winner will receive a delivery of a Devour charcuterie platter, European cheese platter, and some of our yummy chipotle popcorn for 10 guests on a day of your choosing. Perfect for having some friends over with wine to enjoy a warm summer evening!
Isn't that photo of the red barn amazing? The photo was taken by Wei Quek at Photobolic and Avenue magazine did a story about the Country Style Wedding Devour was part of in September 2011. Beautiful couple, beautiful day, beautiful wedding! Read more about it here.
Thanks for landing here....come back often....new post next week!
